Adult Beginner Contemporary with Michaela Konzal
Beginning Contemporary is an intro class for adults who have always wanted to learn to dance and/or those that have been looking to get back into dance! This class will cover the foundations of contemporary technique (a blend of ballet and jazz) through a progressive class structure, an encouraging environment, and practice…we will start small and celebrate every tiny win! Each class will begin with a thorough warm up that is designed to increase strength, flexibility, stamina, balance, and prevent injuries. Warm up is followed by an across the floor session where we will begin to practice full body movement and piece together small combinations of dance moves to the beat of the music (working on rhythm). The third section of class is where you start to piece all of the skills together and work on learning choreography. Each week we will review and build upon the choreography so you can go beyond the moves. Lastly, each class will finish with a cool down to allow the body to transition into a resting heart rate, return to your breath, and ground you before leaving the classroom.
